Behind the Scenes of my Holiday Card Shoot

I’m so happy to be back and I’m hoping your 2015 is off to a great start. My Holiday season was wonderful and totally relaxing. Well maybe not totally, but that comes with the territory of giving gifts and being behind schedule and all that. The biggest surprise of all was getting engaged on Christmas Day!! Jordan asked me to marry him and I said yes!! We are thrilled of course, but it’s the strangest thing. For five years now it’s been my job to completely cater to and take care of brides. Now, somehow I have to make the transition into being one! It will be hard to take down the wall I’ve built and allow myself to actually partake in all things wedding! So far it hasn’t been easy but I’m slowing starting to take it in.

I absolutely want to take full advantage of this opportunity and see what it’s like on the bride’s side of the fence. This is a rare chance to step into a client’s shoes and see exactly what they go through. I’m excited to make changes to my business based on what I experience and just blog about what I experience as both a wedding photographer and bride. So stay tuned for more in this subject in 2015.

Onto the card outtakes. I have always wanted to do a holiday photo card. I love getting them so much. I think they are so special. After getting engaged I thought it would be the perfect time to put together a last minute new years card shoot with Jordan that our children can someday point and laugh at. It was not quite as easy as setting up the camera and props. We took about 1000 pictures with only two that we really felt were cute enough for the card. Anyway, enjoy our outtakes, Jordan’s grumpiness, and just know that we aren’t really all that happy in those photos! Haha! Happy 2015!
